The UK BIM Alliance is delighted to announce a formal affiliation with the Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA).
The EDA is the trade association that represents the interests of wholesale distributors of electrotechnical products in the UK. EDA Members are the essential link in the supply chain between manufacturers of electrotechnical products and the electricians and contractors who install them.
Richard Appleton, General Manager at EDA Data Services, said “Digitalisation of our sector is a priority for the EDA. It is vital that we are well connected with all parties in the construction supply chain for the benefit of our Members and Affiliated Members and we look forward to working with the UK BIM Alliance. A key part of EDA’s strategy is the introduction and promotion of the ETIM standard for technical product data. The UK BIM Alliance Affiliate group provides an ideal forum to increase awareness of ETIM and discuss opportunities for growth or alignment with other data standards.”

The Affiliate programme aims to bring together the professional institutions, trade associations and any other industry organisations to provide a consistent message and coordinated approach to digital transformation, working across silos to a shared objective.
